On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the External Relations Officer of the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region invited research centers and human rights organizations to discuss the participation of research centers and human rights organizations in the development of human rights law in the Kurdistan region.
Dr. Akram Fattah of the Bishkeji Center’s Human Rights Department and Dr. Ahmed Mustafa Ali from the Genocide Center represented the University of Duhok. They pressed on the importance and benefits of engaging research centers in human rights policies. The outcome of the meeting included the submission of advisory proposals to the Council of Ministers. The proposals will lead to improved contributions by research centers and human rights organizations in the development of future human rights law and policies.
