Dr. Maamoon A. Mohammed, CPCRS’s researcher, presented a working paper at the International Conference of Peace through Moderation, which held on 14 November 2018 at Rotana Hotel, Erbil. The conference, organized by SPARK and supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed at establishing a space for dialogue about violent extremism in Kurdistan Region and Iraq, its roots and potential ways to prevent it. The conference combined a multicultural presence of international agents and policymakers with local actors of change.

The working paper of Dr. Maamoon highlighted the practices and works of CPCRS in eliminating and mitigation the violent extremism and dealing with its effects, a particular reference made to the works of the Center in cooperation with MCC in this field from 2012 to 2016.
