The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences/ Field Crops Department at the University of Duhok is hosting a national workshop entitled:

"Field Inspection for Wheat and Barley"

Between Sunday, February 18th, and February 20th, 2024.

Starting Time from 9:00 AM  (Local Duhok Time).

The workshop will be held at the Agricultural Extension Directorate-Duhok.

Justification :

Enhancing the knowledge and skills of agricultural professionals involved in crop management. Field inspection practices are critical for detecting off-cultivars, pests, diseases, and other agronomic issues, allowing timely intervention and mitigation strategies. Additionally, the training will provide an opportunity to familiarize participants with the latest agricultural technologies and practice advancements in field inspection. Moreover, well-trained agricultural staff and agronomists will contribute to increased crop productivity and quality, benefiting the local farming community, promoting sustainable practices, and promoting resilience against potential challenges in crop cultivation.

Objectives:

To train the agricultural staff and agronomists on the principles and main activities of wheat and barley field inspections for obtaining good seeds for planting.
