SEMINAR 2024 - PLANT PROTECTION DEPARTMENT - Dr. Raed Abduljabbar Haleem
Jan. 6, 2024, 7:31 p.m.

Seminar Announcement at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences - Department of Plant Protection.

Seminar entitled:

"Morphological and Molecular Characterization of Neoscytalidium isolates that cause canker and dieback in eucalyptus and chinaberry trees in Iraq"

Given by:

Dr. Raed Abduljabbar Haleem

on Tuesday, June 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM

Objectives or Summary:

Botryosphaeriaceae, a family of sac fungi (Ascomycetes), is the typical representative of the Botryosphaeriales order. The fungi of this family are usually connected with cankers and dieback in shrubs and woody plants. The objective of this investigation is to distinguish between a virulent Neoscytalidium species, with almost similar morphological characteristics that affect eucalyptus and chinaberry trees in Iraq, using the reliable PCR primers (ITS, LSU, and Bt2a) and understand the phylogenetic analysis of these species
