The 9th of December marks 70 years of the establishment of the international Association of Universities IAU, which is an association for higher education cooperation. In this occasion Prof. Mosleh Duhoky the President of the University of Duhok, (IAU board member since 2016) was invited as a distinguished speaker to give avirtual speech in the celebration event. 

In his speech President Duhoky said: “The future of higher education is transforming very fast due to the market demands and developments in technology and particularly communications. IAU plays a pivotal role in shedding light on the trends and trajectories of change in the modern world and has provided rich information on dealing with these changes for the decision makers”.   

As we are witnessing the major catastrophe of the COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating effects this has had on humanity, President Duhoky highlighted  its effect on world economy in general and developing countries in particular, as well as the unprecedented effect it has had on education including higher education. 

It is worth mentioning that the University of Duhok is an active partner in the IAU
