Objectives or Summary:

This scientific paper was conducted to estimate evolutionary relationships of ten Centaurea L. species

growing naturally in the Duhok City, Kurdistan region of Iraq. In current study, the genetic variations and

species relationships was investigated using DNA markers (SCoT) and nuclear gene (rDNA) barcodes.

Consequently, the ScoT markers and ITS DNA barcode were considerably effective for investigating the

evolutionary relationships of Centaurea taxa.
