Cleaning Campaign as Method for Strengthening Spirit of Cooperation among the Students

On 19 February 2019, CPCRS’s volunteers have organized an initiative titled “Cleaning Campaign as Method for Strengthening Spirit of Cooperation among the Students”. The aim of this initiative was to spread the culture of volunteering and cooperation among the students. This cleaning campaign took place at five selected schools and in the Bazar of Musireek. 445 students participated in this initiative: 120 students from Daliva School (60 Males, 60 Females), (90 Host Community, 30 Refugees); 170 students from Lazaka School (130 Host Community, 30 IDPs, and 10 Refugees); 70 students drom Doban School (40 Males, 30 Females), (10 IDPs, 10Refugees, and 50 Host Community); 15 students from Roj School  (10 Host Community, 2 Refugees, and 3 IDPs); 70 students from Musireek’s High School for Females (30 Host Community, 30 Refugees, and 10 IDPs).

 The initiative is one of nine youth initiatives implemented within the UoD and GOAL Global joint project titled “Area Based Recovery Approach Project in Misureek” supported by UNDP’s Iraq Crisis Response and Resilience Programme (ICRRP) with funding from the Government of Japan. UoD jointly with GOAL have adopted community engagement method in selecting these community initiatives through assuring community participation from Misureek. All community initiatives were selected in consultation with GOAL's two community groups: Coordination Committee, and Local Advisory Group, in consultation with UNDP staff. The “Area Based Recovery Approach Project in Misureek” project implemented in Misureek town, Summel District from 5th of December 2018 through 20th of March 2019.
