College of City and Regional Planning
On 16/11/2022, a Symposium was held at the college of Spatial Planning titled "Potentials and Challenges of Participation in Urban and Rural Development: Experiences from Germany and Iraqi Kurdistan".
The Conference was jointly organized by the College of Spatial Planning, University of Duhok, and the Faculty of Spatial Planning, TU Dortmund University, Germany, with lecturers from both sides presenting different experiences in the field of Public Participation.
The Objectives of the conference focused on: presenting successful participatory projects, programmes and institutions in Germany and Kurdistan; discussing potentials, challenges, and constraints for more participation in the planning and implementation of development projects; and identifying and discussing opportunities for expanding community participation in public planning and development projects in Kurdistan.
