College of City and Regional Planning

The College of Spatial Planning and Applied Geoscience is delighted to share the news of the recent accomplishment of our M.Sc. student, Chiman Ismael Ahmed, under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Dr. Jalal Younis. We are proud to announce that Chiman has successfully published two articles in the esteemed Iraqi National Journal of Earth Science (INJES). This achievement marks a significant milestone for the College as it is the first time that one of our students has made such a remarkable contribution to this prestigious journal, which is indexed in Scopus, before her defense.

The articles that were published are titled:

1. Application of Remote Sensing and GIS to Mapping Groundwater Potential Zones of Khazir River Basin, Northern Iraq
2. Evaluation of Groundwater Vulnerability to Pollution Using the DRASTIC Model and GIS in the Plain Part of the Khazir River Basin, Northern Iraq

This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Ms. Chiman I. Ahmed, and the excellent guidance provided by Dr. Younis. We believe that this achievement reflects positively on [College of Applied Geoscience/University of Duhok, and we are proud to have such talented and driven individuals within our academic community.
