Title of the Seminar: The impact of spatial organization on the lobby space design for the University buildings

Presenters: Dr. Cebar Jamel , Dr. Kadhim Fathel

Objectives or Summary:

Organizing spaces in architecture is an essential task that affects the whole building usage. University buildings design should be tailored to the education's needs; disregarding the appropriate building patterns for university buildings leads to a decrease in education level. Therefore, the preliminary study of the main functions for which the university building will be built, the spaces that meet these functions, and their relationship with each other are the first basis for their design's success. This research focuses on the form of a spatial organization that affects university buildings' design, especially the lobby space's position. The research begins by questioning the extent to which the spatial organization's form affects university buildings' formal and visual characteristics. The study aims to clarify the impact of spatial organization in the lobby space design for college buildings at the University of Duhok. Depending on the case study's graphical analysis, which provides the possibility of studying the architectural form's physical aspect. The study concludes that the spatial organization of university buildings has a positive effect on the lobby space by affecting the space's shape and position.
