About the Department
The electrical and computer engineering department was established as a part of the University of Duhok/College of Engineering in August 2006. The first batch of students enrolled in the department was in October 2006.
The curriculum was designed depending on standards proposed by some famous institutes like the IEEE society, ACM and adopted by some similar worldwide departments.
The curriculum was a balance between electrical and computer engineering disciplines. The department’s program emphasizes electronic engineering, power engineering, communication engineering, computer engineering, signal processing, and control engineering as a framework for courses in electrical and computer engineering.
The department's mission is to provide quality education and sustainable research with the attempt to produce professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities that are required for the advancement of engineering and technology.
The department's vision is to offer program that depend on current and future engineering needs, especially in the Kurdistan region and generally in Iraq.
