Under the title "Apollos of the Year", the Faculty of Humanities held a general knowledge competition between the two departments of English Language and Translation at the Student Centre. The event was arranged by  group of teachers from the English department (Hogir N Abdullah, Rebeen A. Rasheed and Sanaa' Mirza) and was attended by the dean of the faculty, the manager of the Student Centre, teachers from different departments of the faculty and students. 

The purpose behind the competition was to enhance students' general knowledge, give a chance to the students from both departments to know each other more and to push them towards a more advanced and critical way of thinking. It's not whether one wins or loses. It's how  one plays the game. It is all about one thing-- experience.
