This initiative aimed at mitigating the load that a high school building had, since there was three different schools using the same building in Misererek town, Summel district, by adding three teaching rooms to this building through installing a plastic separator to the existed walls. After construction of these new rooms by the center’s volunteers, two schools for girls merged in one and now there are only two schools sharing that building which gives more time for the students to take their classes. Furthermore, a friendly sport activity has designed by the volunteers of the center to strengthen the spirit of accepting the students each other and mitigate sensitivity among different students. To celebrate having these new structures, a closing ceremony of this initiative took place on 25 February 2019. 152 people have attended this ceremony including students, teachers, GOAL’s representatives, volunteers, representatives of Directorate of Education in Summel, and the families of the students, where 13 males and 139 females attended the event, of them 19 were IDPs, and 1 refugee.

The initiative is one of nine youth initiatives implemented within the UoD and GOAL Global joint project titled “Area Based Recovery Approach Project in Miserere” supported by UNDP’s Iraq Crisis Response and Resilience Programme (ICRRP) with funding from the Government of Japan. UoD jointly with GOAL have adopted community engagement method in selecting these community initiatives through assuring community participation from Misureek. All community initiatives were selected in consultation with GOAL's two community groups: Coordination Committee, and Local Advisory Group, in consultation with UNDP staff. The “Area Based Recovery Approach Project in Misureek” project implemented in Misureek town, Summel District from 5th of December 2018 through 20th of March 2019.
