Field Trip to the Oldest Rock Unit in Kurdistan and Iraq

Khabour river separate between the Oldest Rock unit in Iraq, Khabour Quartzite - Shale Formation and Bekhme/Aqra Formation. Location of the Trip Head of the Department of Applied Geosciences Mr. Kabeer explaining the important role of Pila Spi Formation in accumulation of ground water in the area.

On 18/08/2016 Applied Geosciences Department of UoD in accompany of Mr. Kabeer from DNO oil company, made a field trip to the Oldest rock unit in Kurdistan and Iraq in general. Khabour Quartzite - Shale Formation. Kaista village, Barwari Balla - Duhok.
