Duhok DGoH:

     - Dr. Nezar Ismet, Director General of DGoH opened the meeting and welcomed all the member of the         Steering Committee on Accreditation and highlighted the importance of continuous coordination             and communication between Duhok DGoH and the University of Duhok in particular College of                Medicine.

     - Around table self-introduction of the attendance started (list mentioned above).


College of Medicine – UoD:


  - Dr. Qasim Hasso, Dean of College of Medicine thanked Duhok DGoH and highlighted the good          coordination which all aims to one goal which is improving the quality of services provided for patients.

- There is an increase in the number of cohort students to get enrolled.

- The expansion of the teaching facilities in the university campus (Teaching Hall) and also the Training Units in hospitals.

- A presentation given by Dr. Qasim Hasso introduced the attendees to the mission and outcome of the College of Medicine and also presented an overview on the integrated system.

- Hands-out in the form of booklet distributed in Kurdish, Arabic and English Language.

- In the presentation, the Dean of College of Medicine introduced the vision, mission, objectives and outcomes of the college. More elaboration on three outcomes have been delivered:

Outcome I: The doctor as a scholar and a scientist

Outcome II: The doctor as a practitioner

Outcome III: The doctor as a professional

- The requirements to fully apply the integrated system and the role of Kufa University in supporting University of Duhok have been presented.


Duhok DGoH Remarks:


- The new integrated system of teaching will improve the capacity of the graduated students

- Some comments on the new location of the College of Medicine and the idea of building a new University Hospital in the new campus.

- Doctors as mangers and their role in assisting the university to implement the integrated system.

- An emphasis on the presence of ethics and communication skills in the curriculum.

Actions:

- Director General gave the Dean of College of Medicine his authority to coordinate with hospitals in order to assist the implementation of the new system.

- CPD Department in Duhok DGoH to coordinate with the College of Medicine in order to reach the message of the new system to the all medical staff.

Feedbacks from the Members of the Committee:

- Conveying the message of the integrated system to as much as possible of the staff.

- Distributing materials that introduce the medical community to the new system and in different languages.
