In the pursuit of capacity building and research collaboration opportunities in architecture heritage and renovation, the dean of the College of Engineering Dr. James Hassado Haido, and Dr. Shireen Younis Ismael met with Alessandra Peruzzetto, Program Director for Archaeology and the Middle East at World Monuments Fund and Dr. Aziliz Vandesande, the postdoctoral researcher at Raymond Lemaire International Center for Conservation at KU Leuven University on October 30th, 2019 at the College of Engineering, UoD.

The meeting was a part of a preparatory stage for a capacity building program for the staff of the government in the "Traditional Construction Techniques and crafts for eco-system innovations and adaptive reuse of vernacular architecture" that will happen in April 2020 in Amedi as a part of the ILUCIDARE program supported by the European Union.
