ABET Workshop in Erbil

A group of UoD academics from the College of Engineering including Dr. Farsat Heeto, Dr. Shavan Askar, Mr. Alan Shaheen, Mr. Aza Hani, Mr. Dilshad Ali and Mr. Haval Abdullah completed a workshop in “ABET Accreditation: Processes, Methodology and Good Practices” led by the University of Missouri on March 30-31, 2016 in Erbil.

The workshop was organized in Erbil as a part of the Iraq University Linkages Program, a program that is enveloped by IREX with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq.

The sessions were led by Dr. Sanjeev Khanna, C.W. LaPierre Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Missouri in the attendance of academics from the University of Duhok and several universities from Iraq.

ABET is an organization that accredit college and university programs in the disciplines of applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology at the associate, bachelor, and master degree levels. With ABET accreditation, students, employers, and the society we serve can be confident that a program meets the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce.
