This course is focused on the following subjects: Methods of coordinates determination, Grid coordinates, Polar coordinates, Geographic coordinates system. Traversing, calculate of bearing length, horizontal angles form coordinates (Intersection, Trilateration, and Resection and Tienstra method). Area and volume; Method of area determination (regular area, irregular area, Trapezoidal area (AT), Simson’s rule (AS), area from coordinates, area from cross-section).Method of volume determination ( End method (VE), Simson’s rule for volume (Vs), Primordial correction (CP), Interpolation between successive cross-section for application of (Vs), Volume from spot height, volume from contour line). Curvature correction. Curves: Horizontal, vertical, reserve and transition curve. Method of layout of horizontal curve (Trigonometric levelling, layout of curve using polar coordinates. Tacheometric surveying: Vertical curve (Inaccessible), Curve to pass through a given point, Compound curve. Setting out of curve using coordinates. Two coordinates points, Control of surveying, Reduction to the centre, Resection by solution of triangles.

This course introduces the students the following subjects: Land law terms and definitions; Historical and background of land law in Iraq; Land ownership in Iraq under the Ottoman occupation; Land rights during the British mandate; Land right in an independent Iraq; The law of residential Re-subdivision; Subdivisions and Re-subdivision residential laws; Residential Re-subdivision laws; Local standards (Criteria); The surveyor’s roles in conflict resolution; The nature of property boundaries; Determine the root of the problem; How are boundaries created? How are boundaries established? The nature of real property conflicts Title conflicts (Deed conflicts, Location conflicts, Resolution through mediation, Resolution through Arbitration, Resolution through litigation). The second course will focus on Cadastral Surveying; Generic Block subdivision options; GOGO (By computer); Introduction to GOGO;What is GOGO? GOGO term definition.
