Scientific visit of the students of the third stage of the Department of Political Science to the Human Rights Commission

On March 20, 2017, a scientific and practical visit under the supervision of the assistant instructor (Abdal Jumah Abdulrahman) for the students of the third stage / Political Science Department have been conducted. Students visited the office of the Independent Commission for Human Rights/ Duhok Branch. They have been welcomed by the Director of Human Rights Commission.  The purpose of the visit was to improve the survey on the work mechanism of the Commission and to obtain information from the Director and staff of the Commission directly, and through which the discussion of issues related to circulation in the specialization of political science.

Purpose of the visit:

  1. To inform the students about how the Commission works.
  2. To be familiar with how the Commission collects information from the community about human rights violations and abuses.
  3. To examine the means are used by the authority to raise awareness of political rights in terms of scientific and the extent of success of these means in order to raise the level of science and political and cultural knowledge in society.
  4. See how to identify the problems facing the work of political rights in society,

And how to solve them.

  1. Encourage and motivate students to play their roles in the future in the fieldwork in human rights and protection.
  2. Learn how to obtain information through personal interviews as one of the important sources in the preparation of scientific research.
