On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Duhok ; UoD celebrated its Jubilee anniversary. The University organized a big festival for this occasion, the celebration took place on 24, 25 and 26 of April 2018 and was organized by all the colleges and centers of the university. The festival was launched in the student center by different activities, in which the President of the university Prof. Dr. Mosleh Duhoky gave a speech that highlighted the role of the University of Duhok in the society and how it instigated cultural as well as scientific and technological change that prepared the youth with the knowledge they need to face up to the challenges of building a new society. UoDhas also provided the different sectors in the City of Duhokand the Kurdistan Region with quality graduates who took over so many important jobs in the private and public sectors. The services that the University of Duhok provide to the youth students have been ever growing to fulfill the needs of the society. This endeavor has continued in a standard and rhythm despite the difficult economic circumstances.
The University of Duhok all through its lifetime is keen to keep its international standard by having continuous international relations with different well known universities and centers of excellence worldwide.
Ironically, our festive day of the Silver Jubilee of the university of Duhok the same day of 24th of April 1974 when there was an air raid that hit the University of Sulimaniayh in Qalat-Deza, which cause martyrdom of number of students and teachers. Sulimaniayh University was the only university in Kurdistan Region at that time. Now we are proud to have tens of universities in the region, that provide the most up to date knowledge for the many generations to come.
In his speed the Governor of Duhok Mr. Farhad Atrushimentioned that the University of Duhok establishment is part of the support that the Kurdistan Regional Government provided to Duhok society and Kurdistan at large. Also he highlighted the role of the University of Duhok in developing the higher education status in Kurdistan Region in general and Duhok governorate in particular.
During the three festive days the 18 colleges and the centers provided scientific and social activities along with different exhibitions
Its is worth mentioning that the university of Duhok provided the society with thousands of graduates in different specialtiesduring the last 25 years of its age.
