President of UoD meets Presidents of Several German Universities

Prof. Mosleh Duhoky the President of the University of Duhok, made a successful visits to different universities in Germany during the period from the 6th to the 15th of July, 2017. He visited Oldenburg University and met with the Dean of the Education College and the Head of the Department of Special education Prof. Monika Ortman , he had fruitful discussions on the ongoing course to our staff from Special Education at Oldenburg University. They also discussed the future collaboration between the two institutes.

Prof. Mosleh Duhoky , visited Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart and met with President Prof. Arnold van Zyl. They discussed the status quo of the University of Duhok and they put plan for future collaboration.  Prof. Duhoky invited the President of Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University to visit Kurdistan Region and the University of Duhok and the invitation accepted. 

The President of the University of Duhok Prof. Duhoky also visited Dortmund University and met with the President Prof. Tolan. The University of Duhok has a long term collaboration with Dortmund University since they started a joint Bachelor degree program on Spatial Planning.  Prof. Duhoky stressed during the discussion on the importance of having 5 top graduates from the Spatial Planning department to pursue their higher education at Dortmund University leading to MSc. He envisions these five seats to be sponsored by Dortmund University. It is worth mentioning that this BSc joint degree project is unique within Iraqi education system.

Prof. Duhoky also visited the University of Tubingen and met with the president Prof. Peter Grathwohl. The two parties discussed plans to start academic collaboration and how to make use of the different areas of expertise.

Finally the President of the University of Duhok met with Prof. Thomas Schance from the University of Giessen. The University of Duhok has an ongoing project to initiate department of Biomedical Technology with the University of Giessen, which is sponsored by DAAD. They discussed the project and its progress and the different challenges during the implementation phase of the project.
