The Internal Medicine Department at College of Medicine in collaboration with Azadi Teaching Hospital with Directorate of Health Duhok arranged different kind of activities to increase public education about risk of this cancer and to increase their awareness about ways of protection and early detection of this disease in the Breast Cancer awareness month.

In Duhok every year about 120-140 cases are affected by this disease most of cases are diagnosed at advance stage disease... 

The aims of these activities were to educate people about this disease and increase their awareness about ways of protection, to educate them how to have regular self examination to increase diagnoses at early stages. 

Activities:

• Dr. Zeki A. Mohammed, one of our faculty memnber, participated in a Marathon arranged by British International Schools in New Zakho/Zakho/ Duhok, for fund raising for cancer patient.
  
• Dr. Iman Y. Almalik conduc a workshop at Azadi Teaching Hospital for public and patient. This was  a new experience in Duhok and may be in all Kurdistan. Old patient who survived this disease and had experience of treatment including chemotherapy presented their experience to newly diagnosed patients. The aim was to increase hope for new patients and to enhance their psychological support. 
  
• A scientific meeting about Breast Cancer symposium at Azadi Teaching Hospital hall in collaboration with CME of Azadi Teaching Hospital/DoH. This meeting was only for doctors where several short presentation were presented by Dr Ramdhan T Othman, Dr Zeki A. Mohammed, Dr Rezvan F Abduljabbar, Dr Sardar Hasen, DR Luay Alsaoor, Dr Dildar Haji, Dr Sanaa Rasheed and Dr Jakdar Ahmed.different kindrisk
